Some of you maybe aware of the Panorama BBC documentary which was aired on 30th September 2024 featuring women being prescribed very high doses of oestrogen and the impact this may have.
The team at Menopaus’ull would like to highlight that if anyone has any concerns about their own HRT prescription and dose to seek advice from your own doctor or menopause specialist to clarify. Please do not stop taking your HRT without seeking medical advice first.
Your dose of HRT is unique to you, please do not compare yourself to others. Always discuss with your health care professional if you have ongoing symptoms/concerns, do not increase or decrease your dose of HRT without medical advice.
New guidance was published this year providing clear information about oestrogen and progestogen doses. These British Menopause Society guidelines where produced in partnership with the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy, British Gynaecological Cancer Society, Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare, Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT), Royal College of General Practitioners and the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists.
