There is something quietly profound about the transition we move through in midlife. Something shifts, not just in the body, but in the way we relate to ourselves, to time and to what we know to be true. We may find ourselves less willing to perform, less interested in shrinking and more curious about who we are becoming.
About this circle:
This circle is an invitation to slow down and take that question seriously. Together we will use simple ritual, communal witnessing and somatic contemplation to honour the life and body you are living in right now, with its wisdom, its losses and its quiet becoming.
We are not here to fix anything. We are not here to rush through what is hard or to bypass what is tender. This is a space where grief can sit alongside wonder, where the experience of ending and beginning are allowed to exist in the same breath.
This circle may be for you if…
– you are in the midst of perimenopause or menopause and feel a sense of transition that goes beyond the physical
– you are ready to acknowledge that something in you is changing and want to be witnessed in that
– you are drawn to embodied, contemplative practice rather than information or problem-solving
– you want to be in community with other women who are navigating a similar threshold
– you are willing to move slowly and sit with what is present rather than reach for answers
This circle may not be for you if you are looking for medical guidance, hormone advice or a structured programme.
This is a gentle and unhurried gathering. There is nothing you need to prepare, nothing you need to know in advance and nowhere you need to get to. The session has a loose shape, offered below, so that you can arrive with a sense of what the time will hold.
1. Arrival and Tea
We begin simply, with tea and time to settle. You are welcome to arrive and breathe, to look around and find your feet before the circle begins. There is no expectation to speak or connect straight away. Oracle cards are available if you feel called to pull one.
2. Opening the Circle
We mark the beginning of the space together with a candle and a few words to name what we are here for. Each woman is invited to share her name and one word for how she has arrived. Nothing more is needed.
3. Arriving in the Body
A slow, guided practice to help you settle out of the pace of the day and into the room. We use breath and gentle attention as a way of arriving more fully, not to perform or produce anything, simply to notice what is present.
4. Holding the Theme
A brief, spoken reflection on the theme of awakening and what it might mean to be a woman in the midst of this particular transition. This is offered without prescription.
It is not a talk about what you ‘should’ be feeling, but an acknowledgement of what many women quietly carry.
5. Somatic Contemplation
A longer guided practice, drawing on simple somatic awareness to invite you into the felt sense of what is true for you right now. We will use breath, gentle self-touch and
silence. You will not be asked to speak during this time. You can lie down for this and yoga mats will be available for this practice.
6. Sharing and Witnessing
The heart of the circle. You are invited to share as much or as little as feels right. What
we are practising here is speaking and being heard without advice, without fixing and
without comparison. You are equally welcome to listen and to be present without
speaking.
7. Closing and Integration. We return to stillness briefly before closing, allowing what has been present to settle.
The circle closes with each woman offering a single word, followed by a quiet
moment before the held space gently ends.
