A powerful new play inspired by the real-life experiences of women in Hull is set to bring honesty, humour and much-needed conversations about menopause to the stage this October.

Written by S. J. Dickenson, Things I Wish I’d Bloody Known stars Allison Saxton and Jessica Duffield and is directed by Lucy Fielding.

The production has been created from the real stories and experiences shared by women involved with Menopaus’ull Support Network, a Hull-based initiative supporting women through menopause and working to break down the stigma and silence that can surround it.

Rather than presenting menopause as a single experience, the play shines a light on the fact that every woman’s journey is different – and that having the opportunity to share those experiences can be transformative.

The production is the result of a collaboration between Menopaus’ull Support Network and the University of Hull, with funding from The Ideas Fund.
