During the month of October Menopaus’ull has continued to build on its mission of raising awareness, creating connection, and offering vital support to women across Hull and East Yorkshire. Through a range of innovative and engaging initiatives, the organisation has successfully brought menopause conversations into the heart of the community, encouraging understanding, empathy, and openness.
One of the most recognisable successes this year has been the introduction of Menopaus’ull ‘Hot Seat’ tour. The striking pink sofa became a travelling hub of conversation, making stops at St Stephen’s Shopping Centre, Princes Quay, the University of Hull and The Queens Centre at Castle Hill Hospital. Each venue provided an opportunity for women to pause their day, take a seat, and talk about their experiences. These open and honest exchanges have helped to normalise menopause discussions and have shown how accessible and compassionate community support can be when delivered in everyday spaces.
The highlight of the month came on Saturday 18th October, when Menopaus’ull, in collaboration with the Office of Emma Hardy MP, hosted the 4th annual Menopause Hull 2025 event at Princes Quay to mark World Menopause Day. The event attracted around 400 attendees and featured an array of talks, demonstrations, and health and wellbeing activities. It was a day filled with learning, laughter, and connections, embodying everything Menopaus’ull stands for – empowerment, inclusion, and shared understanding.
Beyond the events, Menopaus’ull has also focused on fostering smaller, more personal moments of connection. The group hosted a Walk and Talk at East Park, encouraging gentle movement and open conversation, and attended Home Farm in Hessle for a welcoming Menopause Café. The Menopaus’ull team supported East Riding Council in them celebrating one year of running menopause café’s, and attended a James Alexander Surgery’s Health and Wellbeing Day to engage directly with the local community.
Menopaus’ull’s reach has also extended further afield. The team attended Pause Live in London, showcased their work with the ICB Lead Nurse Board and partnered with William Jackson Food Group to help promote menopause awareness in the workplace. Alongside numerous radio and television appearances, these achievements highlight how the project is becoming a leading voice in regional menopause advocacy.
Through creativity, compassion, and collaboration, Menopaus’ull continues to make a meaningful impact proving that when women are supported and heard, real change follows.
We would like to send out a huge thank you to everyone who attended, supported and engaged with our activities and events throughout World Menopause Month (and ongoing too!). Your presence and participation made each event truly meaningful. By joining in conversations, sharing your experiences and supporting each other you help to create a safe and empowering space where menopause can be openly discussed and understood.
