Let’s Get Going is a gentle walking programme designed for people who feel they need a helping hand to get more active. This programme is themed around the menopause and incorporates additional menopause support as well as their weekly walks.
It will begin on Thursday 12th January 2023, and is FREE to attend, see below what each week entails:
Weekly programme
Week 1 – Introduction Walk – meet the lovely leader team who will be supporting the weekly walk sessions
Week 2 – Walk
Week 3 – ‘Understanding the Menopause’ talk with Kay (via Zoom)
Week 4 – 1 mile walk followed by a Strength & Conditioning session with Neil
Week 5 – Walk
Week 6 – Yoga with Emma (via Zoom)
Week 7 – Walk
Week 8 – 1 mile walk followed by a Strength & Conditioning session with Neil
Week 9 – Walk
Week 10 – Walk
Week 11 – Yoga with Emma (via Zoom)
Week 12 – Walk
During the programme they will plan some walks at local Fitmums & Friends clubs to help those who might like to continue their activity at the end of the 12 weeks. Their mission is to support you to find activity you enjoy helping you in the longer term.
Sessions will take place at Christ Church, Endyke Lane, Cottingham at 6.30pm. The yoga sessions and menopause talk will be done via Zoom, so you can listen and take part in the privacy of your own home. If you need support to access the Zoom sessions, please just let us know.
The programme is FREE.
