Menopause and Frozen Shoulder

Frozen shoulder, a common but overlooked menopause symptom, causes pain, stiffness, and limited movement, making daily tasks at work difficult. Hormonal changes contribute to inflammation, increasing the risk. It can impact desk work, lifting, and even sleeping, leading to fatigue and discomfort.

1

Gentle Movement & Stretching

Regular, low-impact exercises like shoulder rolls, pendulum swings, and stretching against a wall can improve mobility and reduce stiffness. Avoid overexertion to prevent further irritation.

2

Pain Management

Apply heat to relax muscles before movement and ice packs to reduce inflammation after activity. Over-the-counter pain relief, such as ibuprofen, can help, but consult a doctor if symptoms persist.

3

Ergonomic Work Adjustments

Set up a comfortable workstation with proper chair support and an ergonomic keyboard & mouse. Take regular breaks to move and consider workplace adjustments, such as voice-to-text software or flexible duties, to reduce strain.
